Grand Saga Sdn Bhd (GSSB) and Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA) had jointly organized ‘gotong-royong' on the 10 th of March 2007 at Madrasah Diniah Ahmadiah, Batu 10, Cheras. Madrasah Diniah Ahmadiah is a home for abandoned and homeless children. It provides shelter to the orphans ranging from ages 12 to 18 years old. The ‘gotong-royong' activity is a part of GSSB's community relations program aimed at fostering closer relationship with the local communities.Briefing on the day of ‘gotong-royong' activities commenced at 8.30 a.m. The participants, comprising management and staff of GSSB and MHA, were divided into small groups to concentrate on spring-cleaning, painting of building, cleaning of the drains, planting plants, cooking, etc.
Later, the Assistant General Manager, Business Development and Corporate Affairs of GSSB and the Financial Director of MHA presented hampers and a cheque amounting RM20,000.00 to the Madrasah. After the ‘zohor' prayers were performed, all the participants together with the orphans had a hearty lunch prepared by the female participants. The ‘gotong-royong' program ended at 1.00 p.m.
