HeadlinesCHINESE NEW YEAR OPEN HOUSE 2008Event Date20th February 2008, Wednesday GSSB had on 20 February 2008 organized the Chinese New Year open house to foster closer ties with the local communities. Distinguished guests-of-honour invited were YBhg. Datin Paduka Low Lee Leng, YBhg. Tn. Hj. Zainal Abidin Aala, the District Officer Pejabat Daerah/Tanah, Hulu Langat and YDH ASP Zainuddin Hj. Mahadi, Ketua Bahagian Ketenteraman Awam & Ketua Trafik Daerah. Our special guests from the neighbouring schools include a total of 37 orphans as well as children of single mothers. Others invited were representatives from local authorities, community leaders, politicians, representatives of highway concessionaires, etc.
In welcoming the New Year, the guests were treated with a twin-lion dance performance by a local 10-member team. Lunch was then generously served with all kinds of delicacies which include the 'prosperity yee sang', a symbol of Good Luck, Wealth and Fortune, for all to share. Later, Tn. Hj. Zainal Abidin Ali, Executive Director, Business Development & Corporate Affairs and Mr. Chee Lean Thong, Executive Director, Operations & Admin., distributed 'ang pows' to our special guests while management staff also assisted in distributing to all other children attending the function.
