Year 2009Headlines‘ONE MALAYSIA’ COLOURING CONTESTEvent Date14th November 2009, Saturday On 14th November 2009, GSSB organized a children colouring contest at our Bukit Dukong Rest & Service Area. The theme chosen for this colouring competition was ‘One Malaysia’, a small effort on our part to popularize the concept mooted by our Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
The colouring competition was officiated by our Senior General Manager, Mr. A. Rajasolan who welcomed the guests and thanked the sponsors, Pos Malaysia Berhad, Esso Malaysia Berhad and EON Bank Berhad for their effort and contribution towards making the event a reality.
Aimed to create awareness of the ‘One Malaysia’ concept among children, the competition was divided into three categories:
1 ) 3 years to 6 years
2 ) 7 years to 9 years
3 ) 10 years to 12 yearsParticipants were drawn from schools within the vicinity of the highway, including Sek. Tabika Kemas, Bukit Dukong, SRK Sri Sekamat, SJKC Bt. 11, SRK Jln Semenyih (1) and SRK Jalan Bukit. En. Mustafa Yahya, a professional artist, headed the jury for the contest. Apart from the sponsorship of free food and drinks and the excitement of the contest, all guests were also entertained by balloon demonstration by a professional clown. Indeed, it was truly a memorable experience for both children and parents alike, participating in the ‘One Malaysia’ colouring competition!
